Benefits of NeoGen
Plasma Treatment

The main difference between Neogen and traditional CO2 laser resurfacing is the way the treatment is delivered. Neogen uses nitrogen gas to create plasma energy, while traditional CO2 laser resurfacing uses laser energy. The plasma energy used in Neogen treatment penetrates the skin at a shallower depth than laser energy. This makes Neogen treatment more effective for treating fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars, while traditional CO2 laser resurfacing is better for deeper wrinkles and scars.

The initial recovery phase after Neogen treatment lasts four to fourteen days depending on the depth treated, during which time the skin may feel tight, dry and will appear dark and possibly crusty. However, after the initial phase, new collagen starts to form, which can take up to three months to see full results. Ongoing improvements can occur up to six months after treatment and even up to a year after the treatment.

Many celebrities have had resurfacing treatments to rejuvenate their skin.

One celebrity who has received a lot of press and media headlines for her Neogen treatment is Shirley Ballas, a judge on the popular television show “Strictly Come Dancing.”

Shirley underwent Neogen treatment with Dr. Judy Todd, a close friend of Dr Raj's and the doctor that taught Dr Raj how to perform the FaceTite  at Yorkshire Skin Centre to help rejuvenate her skin and achieve a more youthful appearance. Shirley had a series of six superficial treatments over a one year period to achieve the results she did. She also combined this with a powerful medical grade skincare regime also available at the Yorkshire Skin Centre. The results of her treatment were outstanding, and she is now an advocate of Neogen treatment procedure.

Neogen nitrogen-based plasma treatment can be combined with other procedures to enhance the overall results. Some of the procedures that can be combined with Neogen treatment include FaceTite or Morpheus8. These treatments can help to further tighten and rejuvenate the skin, resulting in a more youthful appearance.

FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions about Neogen Plasma

Superficial treatment is very well tolerated without any form of anaesthetic but as we go deeper into medium depth or deep treatments we can use a variety of anaesthetic options in the clinic to make you feel more comfortable.

The treatment typically takes around 30-60 minutes, depending.

Again, the length and severity of downtime depends on the chosen depth of treatment which can be discussed at consultation. You may experience some initial peeling, and recovery typically takes four around ten days depending on the depth treated. You can resume your daily activities after the initial recovery period.

Most patients only require one treatment at a medium or deep level to achieve the desired results. However, this can vary based on the individual patient’s needs. If you want less downtime, then more frequent superficial treatments may be more suitable.

Yes, Neogen nitrogen-based plasma resurfacing can be combined with other cosmetic procedures, such as FaceTite or Morpheus8. This is because these procedures target different layers of the skin and can work synergistically to achieve better overall results.

You will start to see initial results after the peeling phase, which typically lasts around seven days. However, it can take up to three months to see the full results as new collagen starts to form. Ongoing improvements can occur up to six months after the treatment, and even up to a year after the treatment.

Unlike traditional CO2 laser resurfacing, Neogen nitrogen-based plasma resurfacing does not damage the surrounding tissues, making it a much safer and more comfortable treatment option. It also has a shorter recovery time, with less downtime compared to traditional CO2 laser resurfacing.

The number of sessions required for optimal results varies depending on the individual’s skin condition and treatment goals. Generally, one to three sessions are recommended for most patients but Shirley Ballas’ results were achieved over six sessions over a year.

Yes, Neogen nitrogen-based plasma resurfacing is safe for all skin types. However, it is important to take into consideration that we cannot treat as deeply on darker skin types (Middle Eastern, Indian, Pakistani, Far East Asian, African skin) as we can on fairer skin types. We can discuss this fully in the consultation but we do have resurfacing options for these darker skin types in the clinic in the form of UltraClear Laser surfacing which is not a CO2 laser and is safe on darker skins.

Most patients experience only mild side effects such as redness, swelling, and peeling, which subside within a few days. However, if treated to deeper depth, the skin can become dark, crusty and even weepy for a few days after the treatment – this always subsides and is a normal part of the healing process. We would of course discuss this in full with you at consultation and make sure you are prepared for the potential downtime. There is a small risk of infection and scarring, which can be minimiSed by following post-treatment instructions carefully.

The results of Neogen nitrogen-based plasma resurfacing are long-lasting. However, the ageing process will continue, and additional treatments may be necessary to maintain the results over time.

The cost of Neogen nitrogen-based plasma resurfacing varies depending on the treatment area and the number of sessions required for optimal results. It is best to consult with one of our  experienced and qualified team to better gauge what you will need. Prices range from £500 to £2800 depending on your exact requirements. All treatments in the clinic over £500 can be spread over 11 monthly payments with 0% interest with our Finance partners BuyLine Ltd. This is subject to a quick, 2 minute, finance application and is not guaranteed. BuyLine is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. If you need any more information please get in touch with the clinic.

Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty, also known as an eye lift, is a surgical procedure performed on the eyelids to improve their appearance. It can address concerns like:

  • Excess skin on the upper eyelids: This can obstruct vision and create a hooded appearance.

  • Bags under the lower eyelids: These can make you look tired or aged.

  • Drooping lower eyelids: This can also obstruct vision and contribute to a tired appearance.

Types of Blepharoplasty:

  • Upper blepharoplasty: This addresses concerns with the upper eyelids, removing excess skin and sometimes fat or muscle tissue.

  • Lower blepharoplasty: This addresses concerns with the lower eyelids, removing excess fat or skin and sometimes repositioning tissues.

  • Asian blepharoplasty: This addresses specific concerns related to the anatomy of Asian eyelids, creating a more defined crease.
