About Fat Freezing Treatment in Leeds at Yorkshire Skin Centre

Cryolipolysis, or fat freezing, is an FDA-cleared, non-surgical body contouring treatment that targets and destroys fat cells through controlled cooling. Once frozen, the fat cells die and are naturally removed by the body’s lymphatic system over time. This results in gradual, noticeable fat reduction without the risks or downtime of surgery.

Unlike weight loss (which shrinks fat cells), fat freezing permanently removes them, making it an ideal long-term solution for stubborn fat.

How does Fat Freezing work?

Step:1

The process of fat freezing works by exposing the targeted fat cells to extremely cold temperatures, typically around -4 to -9 degrees Celsius (24 to 15 degrees Fahrenheit).

Step:2

The cold temperature is carefully controlled to ensure the fat cells are effectively frozen without damaging the surrounding tissues.

Step:3

During the treatment, a specialised applicator is placed on the desired area of the body. The applicator creates a vacuum effect, gently drawing the fatty tissue between two cooling panels.

Step:4

These panels then cool the fat cells, causing them to undergo apoptosis, a natural cell death process.

Step:5

Once the fat cells are exposed to the cold temperature, they crystallise and break down. Over time, the body’s lymphatic system recognizes these damaged fat cells as waste and gradually eliminates them from the body.

Step:6

The process of elimination occurs naturally over several weeks to months following the treatment.

Step:7

A consultation with our qualified practitioner is essential to determine if Liposuction is the right treatment for the candidate’s unique skin concerns and goals.

Fat Freezing Treatment Procedure

Fat freezing works by applying a controlled cooling device to the target area. The applicator draws in the skin and fat using gentle suction and delivers precise cold temperatures to crystallise fat cells beneath the surface.

These fat cells become damaged and are naturally processed and eliminated by the body over the next few weeks, revealing a slimmer, more contoured silhouette.

Key Steps:

  • Consultation with our experts
  • Target area marked and applicator applied
  • Controlled cooling begins (mild discomfort initially)
  • Area massaged post-treatment to enhance results
  • Return to normal activities immediately

Unlike weight loss, which shrinks fat cells, fat freezing permanently removes treated fat cells, preventing them from returning.

There is little to no downtime.

Some patients may experience:

  • Redness or mild swelling
  • Numbness or tingling
  • Tenderness or firmness in the treated area

These side effects are temporary and typically resolve within a few days. Full results are usually visible within 8–12 weeks as your body processes the frozen fat cells.

Fat freezing offers permanent fat cell reduction in the treated area. Once destroyed, the fat cells do not regenerate.

To maintain results:

  • Follow a healthy diet
  • Stay physically active
  • Avoid significant weight gain

Repeat sessions may be recommended for optimal sculpting or if multiple areas are being treated.

Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty, also known as an eye lift, is a surgical procedure performed on the eyelids to improve their appearance. It can address concerns like:

  • Excess skin on the upper eyelids: This can obstruct vision and create a hooded appearance.

  • Bags under the lower eyelids: These can make you look tired or aged.

  • Drooping lower eyelids: This can also obstruct vision and contribute to a tired appearance.

Types of Blepharoplasty:

  • Upper blepharoplasty: This addresses concerns with the upper eyelids, removing excess skin and sometimes fat or muscle tissue.

  • Lower blepharoplasty: This addresses concerns with the lower eyelids, removing excess fat or skin and sometimes repositioning tissues.

  • Asian blepharoplasty: This addresses specific concerns related to the anatomy of Asian eyelids, creating a more defined crease.
